The National Bureau for Drug Prevention comprises the following departments:
- Department of Prevention and Rehabilitation Tasks
- drafts the National Programme for Counteracting Drug Addiction,
- aims at raising quality of prevention and rehabilitation services,
- develops standards of conduct in medical treatment, rehabilitation and harm reduction,
- initiates and conducts research into psychosocial conditions of drug addiction, methodological aspects of diagnosing the problem as well as effective prevention strategies,
- initiates and coordinates measures in favour of the accreditation of health care centres providing drug treatment,
- supervises the implementation of the programmes commissioned under the annual offer competition organized by the Bureau.
